n many cases, printed patterns are used for early geometry validation before committing to traditional tooling. In this instance, the customer moved directly to using the printed pattern as their production pattern and has already completed multiple successful pours.

The approach helped them lock the design faster and reduce upfront risk. We’re seeing more foundries use printed patterns in similar situations: short runs, oversized geometry, or projects where flexibility matters more than long-term tooling efficiency.
